One who was “over the tribute;” i.e., “over the levy.” He was stoned by the Israelites after they had revolted from Rehoboam ([2 Chr. 10:18](/2chr#2Chr.10.18)). Called also Adoram ([2 Sam. 20:24](/2sam#2Sam.20.24)) and Adoniram ([1 Kings 4:6](/1kgs#1Kgs.4.6)).
